Sparking Possibilities: Meet Destiny

At 21 years old, Destiny is building a future she once wasn't sure was possible.

Today, she's studying to become an electrician while working part-time at a local bank. She has big goals, and she's determined to achieve them. Once she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her.

But Destiny's journey hasn't been easy.

A Safe Haven During a Critical Time

Building a Future on Her Own Terms

Growing up, she faced significant challenges and often took on responsibilities beyond her years, helping care for and raise her younger siblings. Through it all, she remained focused on creating a different future for herself and her family.

Family remains at the center of everything she does. She is fiercely committed to keeping those relationships strong while continuing to build an independent life.

When Destiny was referred to RFK Community Alliance's Young Adult Supported Living (YASL) program through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), she had a choice. Participation in YASL is voluntary, and young adults must be willing to engage in the program and accept support.

Destiny said yes.

Her success is a testament to her determination, but it's also a reminder of what's possible when young people have access to the right support at the right time.

Your support can provide vital resources and stability a dedicated caregiver like Destiny needs to keep her family together and thriving.
